The short answer. The I'm so sorry trend with a baby photo is the baby version of TikTok's perdon trend photo carousel: slide 1 is a photo-studio AI version of a baby (perfect curls, a designer outfit, a soft studio, a perfect smile), each next slide takes one of those lies back, and the last slide is the real snapshot with "I'm so sorry". It works with a baby photo of you or of your own child. You can make it by hand with an AI photo editor, or from one photo on Perdon Trend, whose Baby photo style makes every slide with its caption in about 2 minutes, from $4.99.

What the baby version looks like
It follows the same order as every post of the trend:
- Slide 1: the baby as a studio photographer would have shot it, with an opener such as "this was me as a baby".
- Middle slides: the same photo, one upgrade fewer each time, with a line that confesses it: "ok i lied, i had no hair".
- Last slide: the real snapshot, with "I'm so sorry" alone.
Yahoo's piece on the trend of October 27, 2026 names baby pictures among the photos people use. In Brazil it is the biggest version: in about 30 popular covers under #trenddesculpa that we sorted by hand on October 25, 2026, baby and newborn photos came first, many posted by parents and grandparents ("Essa é a minha filha", this is my daughter).
Why baby photos work
Real baby photos are rarely studio photos: three wispy hairs, a stained onesie, food on the face, a high chair in a messy kitchen. The bigger the gap with slide 1, the funnier the post, and the real photo is usually the cutest slide anyway.
Making it on Perdon Trend
On Perdon Trend pick the Baby photo style. It has four lies, each one a slide, taken back in this order:
- Perfect curls: soft, glossy curls with a small satin bow.
- Designer outfit: an expensive, spotless baby outfit.
- Photo studio: a soft professional baby studio with a creamy backdrop, nobody else added.
- Perfect smile: clean, glowing skin and a sweet smile at the camera.
Tick up to 4 of them for up to 5 slides. Every slide is asked to keep the same baby, the same age and the same camera angle. The last lie you tick is taken back by the real photo without a line, as in the posts.

1. this was me as a baby

2. ok i lied, i had no hair

3. that wasn't my outfit either

4. and it wasn't a photoshoot

5. i'm so sorry
The preset lines say "me". For your own child, open the finished set and tap "✎ Edit the words on your slides" and write "this is my daughter…" or "this was my son…": you can rewrite every line but the last, then save again with no new credits.

Which photo works best
- One baby, easy to see. A clear photo with the face visible, at least 300 pixels on the short side, in JPG, PNG or WebP.
- An everyday moment. Mealtime mess and bath-time hair beat an already cute photo.
- Yours to post. A baby photo of yourself, or of your child if you are the parent or guardian.
Making it by hand
Without a tool made for the trend, you need an AI photo editor that changes a photo from a text request, and TikTok's text tool:
- Upload the photo and ask for one upgrade only, such as perfect curls. Ask it to keep the same baby, the same age and the same camera angle.
- Ask for the next upgrade on the picture it just made, and repeat until every lie is on.
- Put the pictures in reverse: the one with every lie is slide 1, the real photo last.
- Add the captions on each slide with TikTok's text tool.

Posting it
Save the slides to your phone. In the TikTok app tap +, then Upload, then Photos, pick the slides in order from slide 1 to the real photo, and add the trend's sound. English posts mostly use "original sound - secret"; Spanish posts use a Harrison guitar sound. Our slides have no sound, so you add it in TikTok. For lines to use, see the I'm so sorry trend captions.
Use it responsibly
- Use a baby photo of yourself, or of your child if you are the parent or guardian; you must be 18 or older to use our tool.
- Leave names out of the slides.
- Uploaded photos are deleted after 7 days and are used only to make your set.
- Perdon Trend is not affiliated with TikTok or with the creators of the trend's posts and sounds.

- Yes, if you are the parent or guardian and 18 or older. Many posts are parents posting their kids. Keep names out of the captions.
