The I'm So Sorry Trend With Your Partner

How to do the I'm so sorry trend with a couple photo: the AI date-night version first, one lie taken back per slide, the real photo of the two of you last.

Oct 28, 2026Perdon TrendPerdon Trend

The short answer. The I'm so sorry trend with your partner is the couple version of TikTok's perdon trend photo carousel: slide 1 is an AI date-night version of a photo of the two of you (date outfits, a fancy restaurant, salon hair, a perfect glow), each next slide takes one of those lies back, and the last slide is the real photo, usually on the couch, with "I'm so sorry". You can make it by hand with an AI photo editor, or from one photo on Perdon Trend, whose Couple photo style makes every slide with its caption in about 2 minutes, from $4.99.

Updated October 28, 2026.

What the couple version looks like

It follows the same order as every post of the trend:

  • Slide 1: the two of you as a perfect couple, with an opener such as "this was our date night".
  • Middle slides: the same photo, one upgrade fewer each time, with a line that confesses it: "ok i lied, it wasn't a fancy restaurant".
  • Last slide: the real photo, with "I'm so sorry" alone.

The trend's posts are not only about the poster: among the popular posts under the Spanish sound of the trend on October 25, 2026 was "La foto que sacó mi novio mientras dormía" (the photo my boyfriend took while I was asleep), and a Spanish branch does the same with friends ("Como amanece mi amigo después de una fiesta", how my friend wakes up after a party). The couple version puts both of you in the joke.

Why it works for couples

Most couples' real photos are a couch, a hoodie and takeout, not a candle-lit dinner. That gap is the whole joke, and it is one you can post together and tag each other in.

Making it on Perdon Trend

On Perdon Trend pick the Couple photo style. It has four lies, each one a slide, taken back in this order:

  1. Date outfits: elegant, expensive date-night outfits for both.
  2. Fancy restaurant: a candle-lit fine dining room, nobody else added.
  3. Salon hair: neat, glossy hair for both.
  4. Perfect glow: clear, rested skin and a smile at the camera.

Tick up to 4 of them for up to 5 slides. Every slide is asked to keep both faces, where you sit and the same camera angle. The last lie you tick is taken back by the real photo without a line, as in the posts.

Slide 1: a couple in a green satin dress and a tuxedo at a candle-lit restaurant table

1. this was our date night

Slide 2: the outfits are gone, grey and navy hoodies

2. ok i lied, we didn't dress up

Slide 3: the restaurant is gone, a worn couch in a cluttered living room

3. and it wasn't a fancy restaurant

Slide 4: the hair is messy again

4. our hair didn't look like that either

Slide 5: the real photo, both tired, eating takeout

5. i'm so sorry

The Couple photo style's sample set: outfits, restaurant, hair and glow, one taken back per slide. It starts from an AI-made test photo, not real people.

The preset lines say "our" and "we". To change any of them, open the finished set and tap "✎ Edit the words on your slides": you can rewrite every line but the last and move each one up or down the slide, then save again with no new credits.

Which photo works best

  • Both faces, easy to see. Two people facing the camera, at least 300 pixels on the short side, in JPG, PNG or WebP.
  • An ordinary night in. The couch, the takeout and the old hoodies are the punchline.
  • Ask first. Your partner should be fine with the photo being posted.

Making it by hand

Without a tool made for the trend, you need an AI photo editor that changes a photo from a text request, and TikTok's text tool:

  1. Upload the photo and ask for one upgrade only, such as date outfits for both. Ask it to keep both faces and where you sit, and the same camera angle.
  2. Ask for the next upgrade on the picture it just made, and repeat until every lie is on. Check both faces after every step.
  3. Put the pictures in reverse: the one with every lie is slide 1, your real photo last.
  4. Add the captions on each slide with TikTok's text tool.

Posting it

Save the slides to your phone. In the TikTok app tap +, then Upload, then Photos, pick the slides in order from slide 1 to the real photo, and add the trend's sound. English posts mostly use "original sound - secret"; Spanish posts use a Harrison guitar sound. Our slides have no sound, so you add it in TikTok. For lines to use, see the I'm so sorry trend captions.

Use it responsibly

  • Use a photo of you and a partner who agrees to it; you must be 18 or older to use our tool.
  • Uploaded photos are deleted after 7 days and are used only to make your set.
  • Perdon Trend is not affiliated with TikTok or with the creators of the trend's posts and sounds.
