I'm So Sorry Trend Ideas: Which Photo to Use

I'm so sorry trend ideas from real TikTok posts: a childhood photo, a homemade Halloween costume, a sports photo, your pet or a friend, and which gets the biggest laugh.

The short answer. The best I'm so sorry trend ideas, for TikTok's perdon trend photo carousel, are ordinary photos with a big gap from their AI-perfect version: a childhood photo (the most common in Spanish), a cheap Halloween costume from when you were little (the biggest English branch), a sports photo, your pet, or a friend who says yes. Slide 1 is the dream version, each next slide takes one upgrade back, and the real photo closes on "I'm so sorry". On Perdon Trend most of these have their own style, which makes every slide with its caption in about 2 minutes.

Updated October 24, 2026.

PhotoWhat slide 1 upgradesHow the posts open
Childhood photoHair, the house, the outfit, the pose"This is me as a little girl"
Halloween costume as a kidThe wig, the costume, the makeup, the party"When I was little I was a princess for Halloween"
Sports photoThe jump, the muscles, the hair, the crowd"este soy yo un día cualquiera compitiendo"
Your petThe fur, a collar or bow, the bed, the pose"Esta es mi perrita princesa"
A friend (with their OK)Hair, clothes, the sofa"Como amanece mi amigo después de una fiesta"

Leaving out fan posts with celebrities, the posts we read use five kinds of photo: childhood, a childhood Halloween costume, sports, a pet and a friend. What changes from one to another is what slide 1 upgrades.

A childhood photo

This is the trend's main version. The most-shared Spanish post of the wave, by @julietaasoriia with about 40 million views, is a childhood photo: "esta soy yo de chiquita en una foto distraída" ("this is me as a little girl in a candid photo"), then "mentira, mi casa no es tan linda" (the house wasn't that nice), "tampoco soy rubia" (not blonde either), "ni estaba tan distraída" and "perdón".

English childhood posts open the same way: "This is me as a little girl", or "my mom dressed me up as a princess when i was little", from a post with 1.3 million views and 230,000 shares. One English post on a photo with a parent owns up with "jk i didn't even have curly hair".

Hair is the safest lie: in the 10 new posts we read slide by slide, 7 took back hair color or hair style.

Slide 1: a girl with blonde curls and a princess dress at a plate of spaghetti in a marble dining room

1. my mom dressed me up as a princess when i was little

Slide 2: the same girl in an ordinary kitchen

2. ok i lied, that wasn't our house

Slide 3: short, dark, messy hair instead of the curls

3. i wasn't blonde either

Slide 4: her face covered in spaghetti sauce

4. and i wasn't that cute

Slide 5: the real photo, a dark T-shirt instead of the dress

5. i'm so sorry

The Childhood photo style: house, blonde hair, candid pose and dress. It starts from an AI-made test photo, not a real child.

Perdon Trend also has a Baby photo style, for the same joke on a baby photo.

A Halloween costume from when you were little

This is the biggest English branch: 195 of the 621 English posts we sampled mention Halloween or a costume. It opens with "When I was little I was a princess for Halloween", and the real photo is the homemade costume: in the most-shared English post, a cheap yellow wig and a pink snowsuit instead of the gown. The costumes named in the captions we read are rarely scary: Hello Kitty, Smurfs, clowns, a ballerina, a crayon, a jaguar, an elephant. The Spanish posts do the same with Halloween and kindergarten costumes: a pumpkin, a clownfish, Wednesday.

The full story is in the "I'm so sorry I lied" Halloween costume trend.

A sports photo

The earliest sports post we found is a Spanish skating one by @ssebbbaa__: "este soy yo un día cualquiera compitiendo" (this is me competing on a normal day), then "mentí, no salto tan alto ni soy rubio" (I don't jump that high and I'm not blonde), "tampoco tengo tantos músculos" (I don't have that many muscles either) and "perdón". In English, a photo from a women's match where the AI version had a full stadium owns up with "jk I have no fans".

Slide 1: a muscular boy with bleached blonde hair jumping high over a muddy football

1. this is me on a normal day competing

Slide 2: no big jump, he just runs at the ball

2. ok i lied, i can't jump that high

Slide 3: the muscles are gone

3. i'm not that strong either

Slide 4: the real photo, a dark-haired boy kicking the ball on a muddy field

4. i'm so sorry

The Sports photo style: jump, muscles and blonde hair, three lies and four slides. It starts from an AI-made test photo, not a real person.

Your pet

The pet version gives your dog or cat a pro photo shoot first. The Spanish pet post we read opens "Esta es mi perrita princesa" over a black chihuahua with a collar, then takes back the fur color, the collar and the dog's age. On our site the Pet style takes back show grooming, a big bow, a fancy bed and an elegant pose. More in the I'm so sorry trend with your dog or cat.

A friend (with their OK)

Some posts are about a friend, not the person posting. One Spanish post from the US, with 1.3 million views, opens "Como amanece mi amigo después de una fiesta" (how my friend wakes up after a party): the AI version shows him blonde, in a sharp suit, on a cream sofa, and the slides take back the blonde hair, the good looks and the sofa, until the real photo, a lot messier. The friend is tagged in the caption.

The joke is on the friend, so ask first. Only use a friend's photo if they agree to it; our tool asks you to confirm you have permission before it makes a set.

Which photo gets the biggest laugh

  • An ordinary or messy photo. The last slide is the punchline, so the gap between it and slide 1 is the joke. In the Halloween posts the joke is a cheap homemade costume against a movie-quality version of it.
  • Lies people can see. Hair, outfits, poses, makeup and the room behind are what the posts take back; hair the most.
  • Three or four lies. Most posts have 4 slides and the next most have 5. On our site that is 3 or 4 lies, up to 4.
  • One person or one pet. A clear face, at least 300 pixels on the short side.

Photos to leave out

  • Celebrities. Some K-pop fan versions use photos of idols. We would not: it is someone else's face.
  • Anyone who didn't say yes. Use photos of yourself, your own pet, or photos you have permission to use; you must be 18 or older to use our tool.
  • Uploaded photos are deleted after 7 days and are used only to make your set. Perdon Trend is not affiliated with TikTok or with the creators of the trend's posts and sounds.
